What's in a name?

Zymêne (pronounced ZAI-meen) takes its name from the ancient Greek word “zymē” (ζύμη) — meaning leaven or ferment. It’s the root of the modern word enzyme, the microscopic catalysts behind life’s most vital transformations.
The name reflects our belief that the smallest changes can unlock the biggest breakthroughs. At Zymêne, we engineer living systems — using genetically modified yeast as the vessel — to unlock the potential of psilocybin and other bioactive compounds through advanced fermentation.
